Has anyone else got POP3 YahooMail working for free?

Hi all, I was under the impression that you had to be a YahooMail Plus subscriber to access mail through Outlook Express. However, after following the help on this page: http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/conte... I was able to access my E-Mails through Outlook Express, even though I am not a plus subscriber.

I am using the Yahoo Version of IE and Outlook Express (It says "Outlook Express provided by Yahoo!). I wonder if that makes any difference.... Give it a try and let me know if it works.

Besides YPOPs, it also depends on where you are! Are you in the US??? If not, this is the reason you're probably getting your pop access working fine. I have a .com and .ca account because I live in Canada. I can't pop the .com without having Mail Plus or using YPOPs (which I wouldn't do), but my .ca account works fine.

Hope this explains it.
Reply:Now. I will tell you how to do it for FREE. Use YAHOOPOPS (called YPOPS too). Install this software on your machine, configure it with Outlook or Netscape mail and get going. Its Absolutely FREE.

Download it from http://www.download.com/3001-2369_4-1047...

But keep in mind. Everytime you want to download your yahoo mails, you will have to run this software in background as a gateway of yahoo mails.

Good Luck!
Reply:I'm using YPOPs in my Outlook Express. With very minimal settings/configurations to do, I can access my Yahoo mails thru Outlook Express.
